Exhibition

In 2013 the City conducted a global search for a winning design for a new Gold Coast Cultural Precinct. Following endorsement by Council, the winning concept, by ARM Architecture and Topotek1, was announced on 21 November 2013.

A three-week exhibition (The Reveal) of entries at the City Gallery followed, together with events, talks and tours. A tailored Touring Exhibition visited city venues during 2014.

The Reveal directly reached more than 4500 people, with many thousands more being made aware of the project through the following Touring Exhibition at city libraries, community centres and events, via the project website and through the media.

Engagement showed overwhelming support, with more than 80 per cent of those providing positive feedback. More than 90 per cent of 412 people directly engaged at events and information sessions during the Touring Exhibition 2014 provided unprompted support for the project. 74 per cent of the 283 people responding via feedback forms during The Reveal and the Touring Exhibition supported the project or stated they would visit the precinct sometimes, or often.
